Marcee Ludlow

Educational Director, Delta Teacher, and Nature Teacher

Marcee is a nerd that loves educational philosophy and the science of learning, but also the science of just about everything. She wanted to be an astronaut when she was a kid, but also an architect, an author, an artist, and an actor on Broadway. She started teaching as a teenager and has never really stopped. She has an MA in English with a focus on teaching writing. Growing up in farm country, Marcee has a deep love for the earth and its amazing systems and has a particular love of geology and herbs. This will be Marcee’s 8th year teaching project-based education within the homeschool community and 4th as Educational Director.

Terynn Rosenvall

Terynn’s passion for working with young children began at a young age when she started babysitting at 10 years old. With experience spanning from kindergarten to high school, she has always gravitated towards the younger grades, appreciating the creativity and spontaneity of young children.

Having been homeschooled herself, Terynn now homeschools her own children, cherishing the opportunity to provide them with a personalized education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Studies, completed six years ago, and is fascinated by the intricacies of the human brain.

Sarah Perkins

Farmington Alpha Teacher

Sarah is a passionate educator who believes in creating a welcoming, loving and engaging learning. She believes the best learning happens through play and making the choice to do hard things. She teaches to the whole child and believes that academic, social, and emotional work are all equally valuable!

Sarah developed her practice as a play-based educator during her time working at Acton Academy Albuquerque, where she built their kindergarten program from the ground up and and now at Link Education, she continues to inspire students while embracing her homeschool roots.

 

Chelsie Hansen

Layton Beta Teacher

Chelsie’s upbringing sparked her love for meeting new people and making friends, making her open, curious, and accepting of all she meets. With 20 years of child care experience and as a dedicated mother to her three children, she is passionate about working with kids. Her early love for art has flourished, inspiring her to teach and take art classes. Chelsie is devoted to helping kids discover and appreciate their unique artistic talents, favoring a hands-on teaching approach. In her free time, she enjoys painting abstract landscapes, trying new recipes, and spending quality time with loved ones.

She has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

Siena Hawkes

Farmington Beta Teacher

Siena has always known she was meant to help children. She earned a degree in Human Development and family studies. With having four of her own school-aged children she has put that degree to use! She has been a tutor, taught preschool, worked at Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is very excited to be teaching your kids! Siena knows how capable and resilient children are, we just need to provide the right opportunities and let them grow!

Jen Heiner

Layton Gamma Teacher

Jen moved to Utah in 2019, bringing a decade of homeschooling experience her children with her, where she has immersed herself in various educational roles. Her experience spans from scouts, youth groups, and 4H programs, to helping establish a new Junior’s program for Abigail Adams Commonwealth of Texas, to creating an interest-led / project-based program for elementary-aged homeschool students. She also assisted in developing The Good and the Beautiful’s high school language arts curriculum and has been a substitute teacher at various charter schools in Davis and Weber counties. Embracing a love for learning, Jen has received training as a CNA, EMT, Childbirth Educator, Birth and Postpartum Doula, Trauma-informed Yoga Instructor, and has run her own doula and homeschool consulting businesses. Jen loves owls, Starbucks, reading and collecting books, nature walks with her family, and playing with her two crazy fur babies.

Kate Van Voris

Epsilon Teacher

Kate has been homeschooling her three children for 8 years (with her adult step-kids already grown). Her educational philosophy continues to evolve, emphasizing children exploring their passions and the world around them. This philosophy translates into spending time hiking, biking, swimming, paddle boarding, and enjoying nature with friends. Hailing from California and Oregon, Kate has a deep love for music and her family. Currently, she is dedicated to building the program at Link for teens, recognizing their potential to contribute to each other, the school, and their future.

Kim Jensen

Math Specialist

Kim only recently embarked on the homeschooling journey with her five children. Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, she is eager to design engaging math-based projects for her students. Kim’s passion for math extends to finding mathematical beauty in nature and fostering mathematical connections in creative ways. Beyond the classroom, she finds joy in creating chaos in her garden beds, making messes in her kitchen, and sharing her love of reading with her children.

Her favorite book of all time is Math with Bad Drawings by Ben Orlin.

Chazlyn Robbins

Board President

Chazlyn has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in reading instruction. She taught for 6 years in the public schools in Montana before maternity leave with her first child. She convinced her reluctant husband that homeschooling their three kids was a good idea. Chazlyn has 3 children ages 10, 12, and 13, all of which were homeschooled for five years before joining Link Education in 2020. She loves being a part of Link! She wanted more structure and social support for homeschool and Link has been the perfect fit. Chazlyn loves the freedom, creativity, and relationships built at Link. She feels the teacher/student relationship is the key to meaningful learning. As the Board President, Chazlyn is involved in supporting teachers and staff, parent communication, field trips, and school events.

Mikelle Kostial

Executive Director

Mikelle has been homeschooling her children and her children attended Knox Academy for five years. They now attend Link Education League. She loves everything about the learning and growth that takes place at Link. She loves working with all of our wonderful students and parents. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, she worked for 10 years in finance for a Fortune 500 company. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and an MBA from University of Phoenix. She says that being involved in this community has been nothing short of magical for her kids and their development.

Natalie Vickers

Board Secretary

As a mom of five, Natalie has “homeschooled” for nearly nine years and now participates in the Link Education League community. She loves being more involved as both the Link board secretary and a parent volunteer. Let the magic continue! Natalie received her BA in Dance & Nutrition Education from Weber State. She has a great love of God and his creations (nature/people/children), freedom, the performing arts, food!, health, learning/education, and adventure!

Corrie Stromberg

Board Member

Corrie has been homeschooling her children since 2018. The Link community has taught her how to be a better parent and leader in her home. She enjoys being a part of the Link board and working with others on a shared goal, especially when it involves kids. Corrie has spent much time in the past working at a hospital clinic helping children. She currently runs a small home-based business.

Eric Ludlow

Eric’s four kids attended Knox Academy for five years, and now attend Link Education League. Before he had kids, he taught remedial math in Title 1 schools. He then went on to get a law degree with aspirations to work in education reform. Life took him another direction, he’s now a programmer, and he gets to work on reforming education through Link Education League.

Hailey Parnell

Board Member

Hailey is a natural teacher and mentor. She is kind, insatiably curious, artful, insightful, and has a particular talent for helping all students feel safe and important. Hailey helped develop the original curriculum at Knox Academy beginning in 2015 and is doing the same for our Link programs. She is an artist by training, but has a deep love for the theatre and is the producer of our Summer Shakespeare program.

Tiffiny Appelbaum

Board Member

Tiffiny has been homeschooling for over ten years. Her youngest child attended Knox Academy and is now attending Link Education. She loves the hands-on, in-depth experience at Link and how her daughter LOVES going to school each week. Seeing her grow and learn is so rewarding! Tiffiny is a graphic designer by trade and maintains the Link website, while also running her own business. She is passionate about learning, water-wise gardening, and living a healthy lifestyle, and loves to read and bake in her free time.
